Mallorca

The island Majorca is considered like a miniature-continent because of de diversity of the landscape. The mountain range in the West, the Sierra Tramuntana, shaped a natural covering for this island. It is an unstable mountain with a length of 88 kilometres, the highest peak of 1445 metres and beautiful wigs to the sea. There are some attended villages in this mountain, like Valldemosa where Chopin have lived a while and Deiá a beautiful village with its old island-style houses, has remained untouched by time and is a favourite haunt of artists and painters. Majorca enjoys an enviable Mediterranean climate of hot summers and mild winters. The inland life still goes by with an agreeable unhurried rhythm. At the East coast you have some picturesque fishing-villages like Porto Petro and Cala Figuera. Near the seaside village Porto Cristo you will find the most famous Drach Caves with the biggest subterranean sea of the world. The town Pollensa is at the North coast just like the peninsula Formentor which has a beach of fine white sand in a natural surrounding. Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Isles has the most worth seeing capital Palma. The city centre with her busy shopping streets lies at a big natural bay where many yachts from everywhere can anchor at the marina.
